NFSU Gandhinagar opens admissions for M.Sc. Forensic Dentistry and Forensic Nursing programmes. Check eligibility, application procedure, and counselling dates online.

National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has invited online applications for admission to two unique and highly specialised courses offered at the School of Medico Legal Studies, NFSU, Gandhinagar campus, Sector-9, Gandhinagar, Gujarat -382007.

The Programs offered are M.Sc. Forensic Dentistry and Indian Nursing Council-approved M.Sc. Forensic Nursing. Both Programs are of 2 years’ duration, each with 20 seats.

The details of the Programs with eligibility for admission are as follows:

M.Sc. Forensic Dentistry: Forensic Dentistry is a discipline of forensic sciences concerned with the proper handling, examination and evaluation of dental evidence in criminal or civil legal proceedings. Forensic odontologists perform examinations required by medical examiners, law enforcement and judicial agencies. They work to identify victims and perpetrators, usually by examining and comparing dental records with human remains and pattern injuries such as bite marks. The course will have sessions by International and National Experts, Mock Courtrooms and Court visits, Practical sessions with hands-on, Advanced practices in Forensic dentistry, Education through Investigation, Case study presentation and discussions, etc.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with a minimum of 55% or equivalent marks for General / OBC / EWS category candidates and 50% or equivalent marks for SC/ST candidates from any Institution recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI).

M.Sc. Forensic Nursing: Forensic Nursing is a specialised area of nursing that combines nursing skills with forensic science knowledge to provide healthcare to individuals who are affected by violence, trauma, or crime. A postgraduate course in forensic nursing can provide nurses with advanced skills and knowledge to work in a range of settings, such as emergency departments, sexual assault treatment centres, correctional facilities, and forensic psychiatric units. The Program will have sessions by International and National Experts, Clinical sessions, Mock Courtrooms and Court visits, Practical sessions with Hands-on, Advanced practices in forensic nursing, Exposure to crime scene investigation through law enforcement agencies, Case study presentation and discussions, etc.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from a University approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates). Applicant should be registered with any of the State Nursing Councils of India and should have a minimum of one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing as per the INC norms.
