Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation is bringing its Land of Smiles program to Irving Elementary School in Kewanee on Oct. 21, according to a community announcement.

Land of Smiles is a free interactive educational program that makes learning about oral hygiene, nutrition and regular dental checkups fun and engaging. The program features characters such as Captain Super Grin and Terri Tooth Fairy, who teach students how to maintain healthy teeth.

Every student in attendance receives a free oral health kit with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss, along with oral health tips outlining how students should care for their teeth.

The Land of Smiles program tours twice a year and has reached over 623,230 students at more than 1,096 Illinois elementary schools over the past 16 years. In the fall of 2025, it is reaching more than 25,660 pre-kindergarten through third grade students at 110 Illinois schools, according to the announcement.
