JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WBNG) — Hatala Orthodontics received a prestigious award from New York State, honoring its contributions to the community.
Senator Lea Webb presented the Southern Tier mainstay with the New York State Empire Award, recognizing businesses across the state for their impact on community members.
While presenting the award, Webb spoke about the work Hatala Orthodontics has done in its more than 50 years of operation.
“When you think about over 55 year legacy in our community of literally providing that access, but also extending their commitment to compassionate care beyond just the walls of their office, to me is, that’s what we need to lift up,” said Webb.
Dr. Pat Scannell from the practice said giving back to the community is just as important as providing quality care.
“What we’ve always focused on is giving back to the community, being a part of anything we can, because you know how small and close-knit this area is. And so we see our patients everywhere. We see their families and we’re so happy to be recognized and honored for that,” said Scannell.
Founded in 1964 by Peter Hatala, the practice has grown greatly throughout the year, carrying a legacy of excellence in the field of orthodontics.
