A free wellness clinic is coming to San Luis Obispo County next week, offering free vision, dental and mental health services.

According to a news release from Adventist Health, a collaboration between the healthcare provider, the SLO Food Bank, Transitions-Mental Health Association and Tolosa Children’s Dental Center will provide free wellness care on Oct. 4 and 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 pm. at the Templeton Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

“As it embarks on its first year, the wellness clinic is committed to advancing Adventist Health’s mission of improving healthcare access for all, while addressing the challenges faced by uninsured and underinsured individuals in the community,” the release read.

Adventist Health took over Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton on March 29, 2024. The facilities will now be known as Adventist Health Sierra Vista and Adventist Health Twin Cities.

At the clinic, visitors can receive dental care from a team of over 10 dentists and oral surgeons, including root canals, canals, cleanings, extractions, infection treatments, oral cancer screenings, and more, according to the release.

Free vision care from on-site optometrists will include eye exams and fittings for custom designer glasses, while TMHA will provide mental health resources, support and consultations, according to the release.

Thousands of pounds of fresh produce and food boxes provided by the SLO FOod Bank will be available to visitors.

Transitions-Mental Health Association or TMHA is a nonprofit organization covering San Luis Obispo and North Santa Barbara Counties offering a variety of mental health services. This office is on High Street in San Luis Obispo, seen here Aug. 23, 2023.

No identification is required, and children and adults can both access the free services, according to the release.

These free services will operate on a first-come, first-serve model, and individuals seeking dental services are advised to arrive early.
